The Beacon Valley Community Policing Forum subforum hosted an initiative in AZ Berman Drive on World Aids Day, observed annually on 1 December.

The subforum members, assisted by the sector commander, Captain Trevor Katzen, and safety volunteers were present opposite the local mall to create awarenes­s.

They also handed out condoms and information pamphlets to commuters and passersby.

They were further helped by staff of the Mitchell’s Plain Day Hospital who assisted with a mobile testing station on the pavement, encouraging residents to know their
