Computer course for mothers

Moms returning to work once their children have grown, the unemployed and students can attend a computer course at Forward Fund Academy at Solaris Business Park in Kommetjie Road, Sunny Acres, until Friday 21 September.

The cost is R150 and the course is heavily subsidised by HGG NPO Sustainability Solutions (Pty) Ltd.

According to Sarah-Jane Brown, spokesperson for the academy, participants will not only learn the basics of computer training, but how to utilise the online Cloud system – particularly working with Google Drive.

“Learning the Cloud online system is now a prerequisite in the workplace. This course could be your gateway back into the world of administration and business, no matter what your age,” she says.

The course includes:

. Basic computer programmes

. Calculator, Notepad, Paint, etc.

. Search portals (Google Chrome)

. Information and keyword search

. Internet

. The Cloud: Online storage; Google Drive

. Google Docs: Learn to type a CV or document­

. Google Sheets: Learn formulas and functions­

. Google Slides: Create presentations

. Google Forms: Create forms, surveys and questionnaires.
