Cops catch robbers

Quick investigation has seen the arrest of three men in connection with an attempted murder and house robbery case.

On Saturday 30 July at 04:30 the complainant was asleep at home when his grandfather entered the room with six men, one of whom held them at gunpoint and threatened to kill them. The suspects robbed the complainant of his cellphone and then took the man outside and assaulted him before he was rescued by a family member. The suspects left in a white Volkswagen Polo.

Later the same day at 13:50 the victim was at home when he heard a noise from outside and went to investigate andnoticed the white Polo with the same suspects along with a woman inside the vehicle. One of the men got out of the car, took out a firearm and allegedly fired two shots at the house. The complainant then reports hearing the car driving away.

He found a bullet casing on the dining room table.

Further investigation led to the arrest of three men in connection with the case. The suspects, aged 24, 27 and 30, were all detained by Sunday 31 July at 05:30.

The suspects face charges of attempted murder and house robbery.
