An article published by People’s Post earlier this month (“New play area for local kids”, People’s Post, 3 July), incorrectly stated that The Safety Lab is benefiting from the City of Cape Town for a stabilisation programme in Manenberg.

The incorrect information was confirmed by the area ward councillor and the City representatives at the time.

The Safety Lab has had no contract with the City during the years mentioned in the article.

The Safety Lab has also not received funds dedicated to projects in the Manenberg community from the City or any other grants, at any time for the stabilisation of any communities.

They have previously been funded by the City, but for other projects.
