The Strandfontein community policing forum (CPF) has called for the removal of the Strandfontein Police Station Commander, citing a broken relationship as a result of continued rise in crime in the area.

The CPF held a demonstration along with residents and safety volunteers on Friday outside the station.

They also handed over a memorandum to police management, calling for immediate removal.

“We seek the removal with immediate effect as we have raised this on all platforms and levels. We have met with several departments and chain of command.

“There will be no time frames given for this,” said CPF Chairperson Sandy Schuter.
