V Tafelsig: On Sunday 11 March at 15:00 officers were busy with stop and search duties in Kilimanjaro Street when officers saw a man acting suspiciously when he saw the police van. Officers searched him and found a bread bag with counterfeit R100 and R200 notes that totalled R6400. The 35-year-old man was arrested and is a suspected gangster.

V Rocklands: A 42-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday 6 March at 13:00. Mitchell’s Plain police received information about drugs being kept at a house in Southern Cross Road. While searching the property, police found 15 full-grown dagga plants in the backyard and three parcels of dagga.

V Tafelsig: A 44-year-old man was killed on Monday 5 March at 00:35. Police attended to a complaint of a shooting on a field in Kilimanjaro Street where they found the body of a man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Police recovered seven cartridges at the scene. No arrests have been made and a case of murder is being investigated. V Rocklands: Police confiscated drugs and ammunition in Lonian Street on Sunday 4 March at 17:00. Police executed a search warrant and arrested a 40-year-old man when they found and confiscated 20 full mandrax tablets, five half mandrax tablets, four large packets of tik, nine small packets of tik, and four 9mm live rounds and one special live round.

V Westridge: On Wednesday 28 February at 02:10 Mitchell’s Plain police attended to a complaint of a stabbing in Valencia Street. On arrival police were shown the bloodied body of a 36-year-old man who had sustained multiple stab wounds as well as injuries to his legs. The deceased was lying on a bed. It is alleged that the deceased had been beaten up by known assailants. The deceased is believed to have been a gangster. Police arrested a 31-year-old man on a charge of murder.

V Portlands: Police are investigating the murder of a 27-year-old man that occurred on Wednesday 28 February at 21:05. It is alleged that the man was at a shop on the corner of Mayfair and Riviera streets when two unknown men shot at him. He was shot in the head, chest and arm. The man was reportedly not a gangster. The motive is still under investigation and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information can call Detective Constable Muneeb Kahaar on 082 777 8076.
