Tafelsig: Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Monday 9 April at 17:30 while on patrol in Sugarloaf Street. Officers saw a man who behaved suspiciously when he saw the police. Officers stopped and searched him and found seven 9mm rounds in his possession.

Tafelsig: On Sunday 8 April at 15:30, officers received a complaint of a person walking around with a gun in Cathedral Street. Officers investigated and searched the 42-year-old man. They found three 9mm rounds in his possession and arrested him.

Eastridge: On Wednesday 4 April at 20:15, Mitchell’s Plain police were called to the scene of a shooting in Daphne Street. On arrival they found the body of a 27-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. It is believed the man was with a friend when they were approached by unknown suspects who shot at the deceased. No arrests have been made and the motive is unknown. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Sergeant Errol Bedford on 082 777 8076.

Beacon Valley: On Wednesday 4 April at 16:00, officers executed a search warrant at a house in Badminton Street. Police found a silver Taurus firearm with a magazine and 15 9mm bullets hidden under a mattress. Police arrested a 22-year-old man.
