V Manenberg: Police arrested a 28-year-old suspect in Manenberg for the possession of stolen property last Wednesday. The arrest came after a high-speed chase with traffic officials and police after doing random car inspections. The vehicle and driver were blocked off in Gugulethu and taken to Manenberg Police Station where a search was conducted. The items found in the car are believed to be linked to a recent Lansdowne house break-in, and have since been identified by the owners. The suspect will also face charges of attempted murder as he attempted to drive over the traffic officer while trying to get away. He has been released on bail and is set to appear in court soon.

V Manenberg: Police arrested four men, aged 19, 25, 27 and 33, in three separate incidents last week, for the possession of ammunition, in an ongoing integrated operation clampdown on gang violence. This brings to 28 the total number of firearm and ammunition cases registered for investigation at Manenberg Police Station. The suspects were released on bail and will appear in court today (1 May).
