V Beacon Valley: On Tuesday 8 May at 16:00, officers followed up on information that drugs were being kept at a house in Peugeot Crescent. Police confiscated three large clear packets of tik, weighing 303g. Two men, aged 46 and 22, were arrested.

V Beacon Valley: On Tuesday 8 May at 16:00, officers followed up on a tip-off that drugs were being kept at a house in Netball Street. They found and confiscated 249 Mandrax tablets and crushed Mandrax. A 45-year-old man was arrested.

V Eastridge: A 21-year-old man was shot in the upper thigh and hip in Falstaff Street on Saturday 5 May at 08:30. It is alleged that four suspects in a red VW Jetta drove past the victim and fired several shots at him. The motive for the shooting is gang related. The victim was taken to Groote Schuur Hospital for treatment.

V Tafelsig: Police are investigating a murder following the discovery of a body in a field near the Wolfgat Nature Reserve. On Sunday 6 May at 13:00, the body was found in the 4th Avenue field by children who were playing in the area. The 27-year-old man had sustained a single gunshot wound to the back of his head. The motive is unknown.

V Rocklands: On Sunday 6 May at 07:55, officers were called to a shooting in Invader Street. They arrived to find the 28-year-old male victim sitting on a couch in a bedroom. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his back and was declared dead at the scene. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

V Eastridge: An alleged gangster was shot on Sunday 6 May at 07:15 on the corner of Malva Street and Arum Lily Road. It is alleged that he was on his way to a shop when he heard gunshots. He ran but was shot in the left knee. The motive for the shooting is gang related and no arrests have been made.

V Rondevlei: On Saturday 5 May at 00:30, officers attended to reports of an unlawful gathering in Highlands Drive. The group was warned and left the scene. Police say 15 people from the group attempted to influence the others to stone vehicles driving in the road. The incident was halted following the police action. No injuries were sustained and police found two 9mm cartridges abandoned. No arrests have been made.

V Town Centre: A 21-year-old man was killed in the parking area of the Town Centre on Friday 4 May at 13:20. Shoppers reported hearing gunshots in the parking area opposite the butchery. Police found the wheelchair-bound victim from Eastridge who had sustained six gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was declared dead on the scene. The motive is gang related. V Westridge: Police are investigating a house robbery that took place in Stallion Way on Thursday 3 May at 02:10. Officers were called to the house where they were informed that four men had entered the house through the back door and had taken some items before assaulting the homeowner. The 61-year-old homeowner sustained injuries and was taken to Mitchell’s Plain Day Hospital for medical treatment. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 021 370 1600.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his head and back and was declared dead at the scene. It is alleged that he was walking in the road when he was approached by three unknown men who fired several shots at him. The motive is gang related. V Eastridge: Two people were shot in Melon Street after 19:00 on Thursday 3 May. When officers arrived at the scene, they were informed that one of the victims was in Malva Street. Officers found the 50-year-old woman on the floor. She explained that she had been in Melon Street and heard shots fired. As she was running away, she felt she had been shot in the thigh. The second victim, a 24-year-old man, sustained gunshot wounds to both his legs. According to the victim, he was walking in Melon Street when he heard multiple gunshots going off and discovered that he had been shot in both legs. The man is believed to be a gangster. A total of 27 9mm cartridges were found at the scene. Both victims were taken to the Mitchell’s Plain District Hospital for medical treatment. V Colorado Park: Police arrested a 25-year-old man for the illegal possession of ammunition during the protests on Wednesday 2 May at 21:30. Officers of the Faure Public Order Policing were busy with crowd management duties in Highlands Drive where protesters were throwing stones at the police. Officers arrested the 25-year-old man who had thrown a bottle at them. On searching him they found one live 9mm hollow-point round of ammunition in his tracksuit pocket and arrested him.

V Colorado Park: Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a 20-year-old man was killed in Jakes Gerwel Drive on Wednesday 2 May at 20:00. The Bayview man was knocked down during the protest action and was declared dead on the scene. No arrests have been made in connection with his death.

V Tafelsig: Police investigated a light shining in the dunes of the Wolfgat Nature Reserve and managed to arrest a man for the possession of various firearms. On Wednesday 2 May at 19:30, the officers were on patrol when they saw the light. They investigated and found four men stripping a Toyota Avanza. The suspects ran away when they saw police. Officers managed to arrest one of them, a 31-year-old man who was also in possession of a CZ75 pistol loaded with 11 bullets, Luger rounds of ammunition and a homemade firearm (zip gun) with one round in the chamber. The vehicle was tested and was found to have been hijacked earlier this year. The other suspects are still at large.

V Tafelsig: On Wednesday 2 May at 16:20 a 53-year-old man was robbed and stabbed at his home in Jonkershoek Street. Seven men entered the house and started stabbing him. The suspects stole two boxes of silver jewellery, a pair of takkies, R3500 in cash, a DStv decoder, a bicycle, eight bars of soap and two cellphones. No arrests have been made.
