V Plumstead: Diep River police are looking for four suspects involved in a house robbery that occurred in Stirling Road on Wednesday 16 May at about 13:30. The male suspects allegedly forcefully gained access to their victim’s property and choked her before ransacking the house. According to Diep River police spokesperson, Constable Zak Marais, the victim was watching television when the incident took place. She reportedly tried to scream for help but a suspect covered her face. Marais says the suspects stole various electronic items including a laptop, television and cellphone before fleeing in a champagne-coloured sedan vehicle. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Detective Sergeant Wellington Mrwebi on 021 710 7348 or the station on 021 710 7300. Marais warns residents to be vigilant at all times and to install security measures to protect their properties. He also advises that residents must have emergency numbers on speed dial and keep their cellphones close by at all times. “We also encourage residents to be part of the neighbourhood watches.”
