V Parkwood: Grassy Park police arrested a 31-year-old man in Abdulla Moosa Walk on Monday for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police officers were busy with crime prevention patrols in Parkwood and saw two men walking in the area. When the men saw the officers, they tried to flee. When officers cornered one of the suspects, they found a black 9mm Parabellum pistol, along with a magazine and seven rounds of ammunition.

V Ottery: A 34-year-old man was arrested in Meadow Way on Tuesday afternoon. The National Intervention Unit (NIU) received and followed up information of abalone being stored at a house. A total of 7670 units of abalone with an estimated value of R3.5m was found and handed over to the Law Enforcement Marine Unit.
The suspect was charged with the illegal possession of abalone.

V Grassy Park: Police arrested five men – between the ages of 24 and 36 – in a botched robbery on Wednesday. During their morning patrols, police spotted a hijacked black Hyundai Tucson in Retreat and gave chase, leading them to a halt on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Prince George Drive, according to Steenberg police spokesperson, Warrant Officer John Bartlett. One of the suspects sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Bartlett, says the Tucson had reportedly been hijacked in Kleinvlei. Cases of attempted murder, possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence have been opened for investigation by police officers at Steenberg Police Station, Bartlett adds.
