V Rocklands: On Wednesday 23 May at 10:30, Mitchell’s Plain police officers were patrolling in Siberian Close when they noticed a car parked in the yard of a suspect’s house. Officers investigated and saw a man sleeping on the couch. He informed the officers that the car belonged to a woman who stays in Portlands and that he had had it for two weeks. Officers then decided to run the registration number through their database and discovered it was linked to a stolen vehicle case registered at Mitchell’s Plain Police Station. The 40-year-old man was arrested.

V Tafelsig: On Tuesday 22 May at 20:40, Mitchell’s Plain police officers were conducting stop-and-searches in Irene Close when they saw a suspicious-looking Opel station wagon. They stopped the car and ran the number plate and discovered it had been stolen. The car was registered in a Cape Town Central Police Station case. A 34-year-old man was arrested.

V Tafelsig East: Police arrested a 59-year-old man in Wanda Crescent on Tuesday 22 May at 18:15 when they received a tipoff about drug dealing. Officers found two packets containing mandrax tablets. According to police, the man claims to use the drug to sleep. A total of 206 mandrax tablets were confiscated.

V Tafelsig: Police arrested a 35-year-old man in Piketberg Street on Tuesday 22 May at 18:00 after receiving a tip-off about drug dealing. Officers searched a wendyhouse and found drugs hidden in a glass container. Police confiscated 16 full mandrax tablets, 11 half mandrax tablets and 36 packets of tik.

V Tafelsig: Four suspects were arrested on Tuesday 22 May at 16:45 when Cape Town Provincial Dog Unit officers were patrolling in 4th Avenue. The officers received information of four men who were stripping a white Isuzu bakkie. They investigated and found the suspects with oil on their hands. When the suspects saw the police vehicle they tried to move away from the bakkie. The VIN was tested and it came back stolen in a Kraaifontein case. Four suspects aged between 23 and 30 were arrested­.

V New Woodlands: Three people were injured in an accident in AZ Berman Drive on Tuesday 22 May when a Toyota and an ambulance collided. Lentegeur police found the Toyota in the road with a smashed front. There was no-one in the car. The ambulance allegedly collided with the car and two men and a woman were hospitalise. The ambulance driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.
