V Sea Point: Officers were carrying out vehicle patrols in Graham Road on Saturday 26 May at 05:00 when they spotted two men walking in the direction of a black VW Polo. When the two suspects noticed the officers they walked past the vehicle in a what police belived to be a suspicious manner, but were stopped by the police officers. The police saw that the Polo’s window was rolled down and the car audio face gone. They went to the suspects’ vehicle, which was pointed out by them, and found the stolen car audio face. The two men, aged 24 and 26, were arrested for possession of stolen property­.

V Sea Point: While on foot patrols on Saturday 26 May at 22:15 on Beach Road, near the Sea Point swimming pool, officers followed the smell of dagga and found a 43-year-old man in possession of 18 “stoppe” of dagga. The suspect was detained at the local police station.

V Cape Town Central: From Monday 21 to Friday 25 May, officers arrested five suspects involved in contact crimes. One suspect was arrested for a sexual assault incident that happened during the week. An additional three suspects were arrested for common robbery and five for robbery with a weapon. Officers also arrested 14 suspects for shoplifting incidents, in which 45 sports bags were found on various suspects. The bags are believed to have been stolen. During the week, officers arrested 20 people for drug-related crimes.

V Gardens: Cape Town Central police arrested two armed robbers who acted as water meter reading officials on Thursday 31 May. The robbery took place in Hout Bay and the suspects allegedly took cellphones, other electronic devices and an undisclosed amount of cash. Police were notified when the getaway car, a silver Audi A4, was spotted near Upper Orange Road in Gardens. When the suspects noticed the police they stopped the vehicle and fled on foot, running towards Vredehoek. The police officers gave chase and managed to arrest two of the suspects and found an unlicensed 9mm pistol and seven live rounds of ammunition. Police confiscated the gun, ammunition and vehicle from the suspects. They later discovered that the vehicle had been stolen in Belhar.
