V Imizamo Yethu: Hout Bay police arrested a reportedly “wanted” suspect after receiving a tip off at Oliver Tambo Street in Imizamo Yethu at 06:00 yesterday (Monday 25 June). The suspect, a 28 year old man, was expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on charges of four robbery cases, possession of ammunition, possession of dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. He reportedly refused to let police arrest him and attacked them instead. Warrant Officer Tanya Lesch, Hout Bay police spokesperson, says: “On their arrival the suspect was armed with a knife, ran out of the house and wanted to stab a police member. The suspect then ran away, the police members followed him and caught up with him in the Main Road, once again he tried to stab a police member.”
