V Imizamo Yethu: Police made three arrests on Friday 9 November. The first arrest was for the selling of liquor without a licence, the second for dealing in drugs and the third for the unlawful possession of ammunition. V Hout Bay: Police made 10 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol during an operation on Saturday 10 November. Another three arrests were made for the selling of liquor without a licence. V Wynberg: Police arrested three suspects for the possession of drugs during a crime prevention patrol on Friday 9 November. Sergeant Sakhumzi Mbucela and Constable Halgernon Jacobs stopped three suspicious-looking men and searched them. They found 200 Mandrax tablets, 100g of dagga and 45g of tik. V Diep River: Five suspects between the ages of 21 and 26 were arrested for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle, illegal possession of a firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition. Diep River police spokesperson Constable Zak Marais, says the arrests were made using Licence Plate Recognition technology and community partnerships. “A local security service provider had called in a metallic silver sedan vehicle driving suspiciously down Main Road,” says Marais. Diep River police were alerted to the movements of the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle with the assistance of neighbouring police stations, Marais explains. “Diep River Police Station management would like to give a special thanks to the Constantia Valley Information Centre Control Room, BH Security and neighbouring police stations for their support,” says Marais.
