V Eastridge: On Wednesday 6 February at 10:25, Mitchell’s Plain police received a complaint of a shooting that had occurred at the corner of Kameel and Gazelle streets. On arrival at the scene, police saw the body of a 28-year-old man on the pavement next to a vehicle. The deceased had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Police recovered 20 cartridge casings at the scene. The motive is possibly gang related as the deceased was an active gang member. No-one has been arrested. Police are investigating a case of murder.

V Woodlands: On Wednesday 6 February at 08:00, Lentegeur police received a complaint of a shooting that had occurred in front of a school in Juno Street, Woodlands. On arrival at the scene, police saw the body of a 37-year-old man lying in the road. The deceased had allegedly dropped off his children at school when he was approached by two armed suspects on foot. The hitmen shot at the deceased, wounding him in the face and neck. He died at the scene. Police recovered 11 cartridge casings at the scene. Police are investigating a case of murder.

V Harmony Village: On Tuesday 5 February at 16:43, Lentegeur Crime Prevention Unit officers received information about ammunition being kept at a house in Rainbow Street. While searching the premises police found a variety of ammunition consisting of 41 32mm rounds, one shotgun round, 145 9mm rounds, three unknown calibre rounds, two R5 rounds and five magazines of varying firearms. Police arrested a 29-year-old man. The suspect faces a charge of unlawful possession of ammunition.
