Crime wrap: Lansdowne

  • Rondebosch East: Three unidentified men hijacked a gold Toyota Etios with registration number CA 804051 on Tuesday 26 March at 21:30. The men, one carrying a firearm and the other a knife, approached a 71-year-old man. The one with a knife threatened the victim who was dropping off a church member in Rosedon Road, and demanded the car keys. The suspects then sped off with the vehicle. A case of car hijacking has been opened for investigation.
  • Ottery: A 57-year-old man with stab wounds was found dead in the front seat of his green BMW. The police were contacted at 09:00 on Sunday 24 March and proceeded to Enslin Road where they discovered the body. A murder case has been opened. The motive for the killing is not yet known. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives on 021 700 9000 or 082 576 2804.
