Customers shopping at Long Beach Mall not only stand a chance to win big money by spending R300 or more, but will also have the opportunity to benefit their favourite charity through a campaign that started on Friday 31 August and runs until Wednesday 31 October.

The four charities that were carefully selected for the campaign are Tears (animals), Care Company (elderly), Jones Safe House (children) and Volunteer Wildfire Services (environment).

“When you spend R300 or more in the mall you have to complete an entry form, pop your till slip into the envelope and then drop it into your preferred charity’s box,” says Janine Davidson, marketing manager of Long Beach Mall.

The charity with the most till slips will win. For every 30 entries a charity receives a flower that will appear on their “tree” in the mall.

“The tree with the most flowers will be the winner, which means they have the most till slips in their box. We need customers to come show support and help us grow the trees and we would love to fill up the trees with loads of flowers,” she says.

The first prize is R10 000, second R7000, third R5000 and fourth R3000.

“Four lucky customers will also each stand a chance of winning a R2000 voucher. Each Saturday one of the charities will get a chance to be in the mall to promote their charity by giving people information about the work they do. Each charity will get two Saturdays during the campaign to promote and raise awareness,” she says.
