Dido Valley Road closed for months

2018-10-02 06:00

The laying of a 400m long sewer pipe in Dido Valley Road in Simon’s Town at a cost of R1.8m is the reason why the intersections with Penguin Drive and 1st Avenue are closed to traffic.

The closure will be in place for three months.

According to the City of Cape Town this is a necessary service delivery project.

Motorists are advised to use the alternative routes along either Glen Road or Scala Road.

Once installed, the sewer pipe will serve the Woodlands community and the new housing development in Dido Valley Road.

“It is absolutely necessary that the municipality caters for the infrastructure needs of our communities.

“We thank residents for their patience and understanding,” says Eddie Andrews, Mayco member (South).

For any urgent enquiries call the City’s call centre on 0860 103 089.
