Kensington police are looking for two men who allegedly robbed Doctor Papier Surgery in 10th Avenue at gunpoint on Thursday morning.

The men, both in their thirties, tied up the doctor and his secretary, and robbed them and three other staff members of their belongings.

According to the police report, they got away with an amount of R6000 in cash, five cellphones and the doctor’s car.

Sergeant Angeline Grill, police spokesperson, says: “If any community member has information please contact Sergeant Edson on 021 594 7026/33.”

Members of the public are also asked to be on the lookout for the doctor’s stolen car, a silver grey BMW 318.

Zainulabideen van der Schyff, spokesperson of the Kensington Community Policing Forum (CPF), says they strongly condemn the attack.

“The CPF maintains that community members should remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity and behaviour observed in the area. We also call on our entire community to remain unified as only in unity will we be strong enough to effectively prevent and curb crime and work towards a safer and secure Factreton-Kensington community,” he says.
