An Ocean View feeding scheme received some love ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Love in Action Ministries, which provides meals to between 200 and 400 children twice a week, received the gift of a new fridge and freezer.

As the ministry provides nutritious meals – with meat and fresh vegetables – instead of soup, the donation of a fridge was originally suggested by appliance store Hirsh’s. But it was clear that a larger combination of a fridge and freezer would be better suited to the ministry’s needs, and appliance manufacturer Liebherr stepped in. Hirsch’s will now raffle off the original fridge, and all proceeds will go the feeding scheme.

The ministry also provides a safe space for children to play and organises foster care for children who have been removed from their families.
