The Mitchell’s Plain crime prevention unit (CPU) has arrested a 32-year-old Montrose Park woman on a charge of illegal possession.

On Wednesday 25 May at 16:00, officers attached to the CPU responded to a tip-off that lead them to a house in Elizabeth Crescent, Montrose Park.

“While searching one of the rooms, officers discovered drugs consisting of 645 units of heroin, 96 whole mandrax tablets with five half tablets, 187 small packets of tik, 33 large packets of tik, 10 10g packets of tik, a quantity of loose dagga and R1056 cash,” says Mitchell’s Plain police spokesperson Lieutenant Ian Williams.

Williams adds the drugs have an estimated street value of R40 000.
