Police arrested a 53-year-old man in Portlands on Monday 28 August when he was found with drugs. Officers were on routine patrols when they received a complaint of drug dealing at a house in Mayfair Close. While searching the property, police confiscated 125 straws of heroin and 13 bankies of dagga. In an unrelated matter, also on Monday, police arrested a 30-year-old man in Tafelsig for possession of ammunition. Officers noticed a suspicious-looking man in Lebombo Street and saw him throw an object on the ground when he spotted the police. They searched him and found the magazine loaded with three rounds that he had thrown down.In a third incident, police arrested a 22-year-old man in Portlands after receiving a tip-off. Officers went to the Pisa Close home and saw the man running into the yard when he spotted them. They caught and searched the man and found a red bag containing a green box on him. In the box they found 30 hollow points, five 9mm short and five other live rounds.
