Drugs seized in Lentgegeur

Two men will appear in court later today in connection with drug dealing and possession charges.

On Saturday (18 February) at 22:00 Lentegeur Police crime prevention unit were busy with crime prevention duties in the Lentegeur area, when they observed a man acting suspiciously.

“[He ran] into an address in Blombos Street and officers followed him inside the premises. On searching the well-known drug outlet, officers found 87 tik packets, 13 whole and nine half mandrax tablets, 49 ecstasy tablets and 39 heroin units,” says police spokesperson Warrant Officer Wynita Kleinsmith.

The drugs have an estimated street value of R15 000.

Two men, aged 42 and 44 were arrested on charges of dealing and possession of drugs and will appear in court later today.
