Eight injured in crash

Eight people were injured when a taxi allegedly crashed into the side of a truck-trailer at the Royal Road and Van Wyk Street intersection in Maitland on Thursday 22

They sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. No fatalities were reported.

It is reported that emergency services arrived on the scene to find the taxi and truck in the middle of the intersection.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

Maitland police are investigating the cause of the accident.
