The 12th annual eMzantsi Carnival is here.

This year’s event, “Hilltopia”, is taking place in Red Hill on Heritage Day, Saturday 24 September.

The celebratory parade starts from Lower Camp at 10:00 and will continue through Middle Camp with dancing puppetry and ghoema-samba drumming and singing back to the Community Clinic for the stage show which runs until 14:00.

Red Hill’s own rising sailing star Asenathi Jim, who, at the tender age of 23 already has two Olympic Games under his belt, will be giving an inspirational speech having recently returned from Rio.

All are welcome to join in the fun that brings together local schools, youth, faith organisations, sports groups and eMzantsi magic. Spectators are requested to park in the Lower Camp where cars will be monitored.
