Exercise at Naval base

The South African Navy in Simon’s Town is hosting Exercise Ibsamar V1 until Monday 15 October. Yesterday (Monday 1 October) a 21-gun salute took place at 08:00 for the visiting ships INS Kolkatta and INS Tarkash from India at Lower North Battery. Excercise Ibsamar V1 is a multinational maritime exercise held between Brazil, India and South Africa every four years. Firing rehearsals were held on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 September.
