Expect traffic delays

2018-06-05 06:00

Traffic delays are expected at the intersection of Constantia Main and Ladies Mile roads as road maintenance is underway. The City of Cape Town’s Transport and Urban Development Authority commenced with roadworks on Thursday 31 May and the expected date of completion is Saturday 30 June.

Roadworks will take place on weekdays between 09:30 and 15:00.

The roadworks will temporarily affect vehicles travelling to and from Hout Bay through Parish Road, Southern Cross Drive, Rhodes Drive, Pagasvlei Road and Price Drive along Constantia Main. Traffic in both directions will be affected as one lane in each direction will be closed at a time and flag personnel will regulate traffic flow by means of a stop-and-go system.

Mayco member (South), Eddie Andrews, urges the public to be patient with the roadworks.

“Roadworks always come with a level of inconvenience, but are necessary to ensure the longevity of our road network that carries a high volume of traffic every day. We anticipate that road users will experience some delays while we are working in this area, and I request motorists to be patient during the construction period. We also recommend that, where possible, they use alternative routes,” he says.
