Three men were  injured on Saturday (22 April) when a truck overturned on Constantia Nek.

ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, Metro and Fire services, arrived on the scene to find a truck lying on its side on the side of the road. A load of sand had been spilled across the road.

ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, says on closer inspection, paramedics discovered that one man had been ejected from the vehicle and had sustained serious injuries.

“Two other men were found with only minor injuries. Paramedics treated the men and provided the seriously injured man with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the men were transported to Victoria Hospital for further treatment. The driver later told authorities that the brakes had apparently failed, causing the vehicle to overturn.”

Local authorities will be investigating this matter further.
