Police confiscated more than R200 000 worth of counterfeit goods in Lentegeur last week.

On Friday at 10:00 officers of the Lentegeur Police Station helped a private investigator with a search warrant for a home in Primrose Street.

On arrival officers searched the house and discovered a hidden room with the entry gained through a clothing cupboard in one of the bedrooms.

Officers further found a second storage space in the roof.

Nike, Converse and Jordan takkies, as well as Nike t-shirts, were found in the hidden room and roof of the house.

The shoes and shirts, to the value of R203 600, were confiscated. The owner of the house, a 52-year-old man, will be prosecuted.

A case of possession of counterfeit goods will be investigated by the Lentegeur police when the investigation by the private investigators is done.
