Families made full use of their open spaces with the second annual Concert in the Park on Sunday.

Hosted by local councillors from Subcoucil 23 and the City of Cape Town, this is the second annual initiative that saw families entertained for free at the Westridge Gardens from 12:30 to 18:00.

With their picnic baskets packed and their blankets ready, thousands of residents attended.

The event MC was none other than local comedian Wayne McKay with headliners The Rockets, Salome and Jody Geduld.

Carlyn September, a resident who attended the event, says she saw the posters and decided to attend.

“We like to watch live shows and when we saw it was free we just had to come and see what it was about. We really enjoyed The Rockets and we could have fun with our whole family,” she says.
