A family of four were shot and injured in their Factreton home last night.

Police confirmed a 63-year-old man was shot in his left leg while his wife and their two children were shot in the back, chest and lower back, respectively.

All four were taken to hospital for treatment.

“This office can confirm a shooting incident in Eiland Square, Factreton on Thursday 26 July at about 21:35 where a family came under attack and was injured in their home while another house was also shot at in Eiland Square,” says Kensington police spokesperson, Sergeant Angeline Grill.

About 25 spent cartridges and two live 9mm rounds were found in the road and on the property of the family.

Grill said police “strongly condemn” the shooting and has since reported that a 19-year-old man was arrested on a charge of attempted murder.

The local community policing forum (CPF) also denounced the incident.

Members of the CPF are set to go on an anti-crime picket on Sunday 29 July.
