Family of man sought

Police are requesting assistance in locating the family of Johannes Van Wyk.

According to a statement, on 11 February at 14:45, Mitchell’s Plain police received a complaint of a body lying on an open field in First Avenue, Eastridge next to the Mitchell’s Plain Day Hospital. The body was that of Van Wyk, a 36-year-old man who last resided at 15 Good Hope Street, Heinz Park. An inquest case docket was opened for investigation. A post mortem was completed and the cause of death was determined to be of natural causes.

At the time of his death, he was wearing blue pants, a red top, black shoes, and a Vodacom T-shirt.

Mitchell’s Plain police urgently requires the assistance of his family to identify the body at the Salt River Mortuary.
