The police are looking for three foreigners after they robbed a house in Trevor Road, Rondebosch East on Tuesday 15 November at about 04:00.

Lansdowne police spokesperson Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka says the men entered the home of the family while they were sleeping.

“The suspects woke the people and demanded money, but there was none in the house. The victim, a 64-year-old man, explained that the suspects came through the front window and threatened them by using knives from his kitchen,” Mnyaka says.

He says the robbers tied him with a shirt and put a pillow over his face, then forced his wife to give all the keys and show them the garage after covering her face with a shirt as well, Mnyaka adds.

“The suspects started to ransack the house and took a DVD player, two laptops, a leather jacket and jewellery to the amount of R23 000. The suspects left the house through the front door,” Mnyaka says.

It is not clear if they were on foot or driving a car when fleeing the scene.

No-one was hurt during the robbery.

Colonel Herman Seals, commander of Lansdowne Police Station, appeals to residents to always be vigilant.
