Six crowbar gang members were arrested this morning after a break-in in Fish Hoek.
Following information received, Fish Hoek police arrived at a house but the suspects sped off, but police gave chase. Three of them were arrested in the Fish Hoek area and the other three in Wynberg.
Captain Ntomboxolo Nqunqeka says members of the Flying Squad chased the gang who was fleeing in two cars. “The Flying Squad arrested three of the suspects in the Fish Hoek area where the chase started. The other car sped off and police officers gave chase. The suspects drove into the main road and collided with a minibus-taxi as they were trying to escape. They fled on foot but officers gave chase and arrested them,” she says.
Nqunqeka adds: “Officers found a jewellery safe, rug and a plasma TV in their possession. They also had house breaking tools in their car. They will be charged with house breaking and possession of stolen property"
