Fish Hoek roads resurfacing underway

2019-01-22 06:00

The City of Cape Town would like to thank commuters and all other road users in the Fish Hoek area for their patience while the resurfacing of various roads in Fish Hoek is underway.

The project should be completed in the next three weeks. The project commenced in December 2018 and the affected roads are Quarry, Castleman, Arthur Wright, Harrington, Risi and Carmichael.

Felicity Purchase, Mayco member for transport, says traffic is being accommodated in half-width lanes on these roads for the duration of the project. “We apologise for the inconvenience experienced over the past few weeks. However, the regular maintenance of these roads is to the benefit of the residents, business sector, and all other road users in the area.

“Our road network is one of our most important assets and must be maintained. The contract value is approximately R5.8m.We can confirm that the City’s contractor dropped off notification letters last year to ensure that all residents were informed of this planned maintenance project,” she says.
