Follow on the trail of Antarctic fossils

The Friends of Iziko South African Museum will host a public lecture by Professor Roger Smith on Antarctic fossil bones.

The focus will be on the End-Permian mass extinction and recent research done in Antarctica to understand this event.

Smith will present his team’s latest findings on this topic and the trials and tribulations of conducting research from a remote field camp in the central Transantarctic Mountains.

The talk will take place on Wednesday 28 November at Iziko South African Museum, 25 Queen Victoria Street, at 18:00.

Entry is free for members and R30 for non-members.
