Around 200 families received a visit from a local organisation on Human Rights Day.The AJ Foundation visited the settlement with sandwiches and juice in line with their vision and mission.“In line with the main objective of the foundation, which is to serve in impoverished communities, 7de Laan was chosen for Human Rights Day. Every South African has the right to food and although we could not help all South Africans, we endeavoured to reach a community,” says Lauren Swartz of the foundation. The settlement houses around 200 families, of which children make up around 30%. The AJ Foundation was established in 2016 and is a non-profit company that focuses on youth development and community upliftment in the Cape Metropolitan area. “We would like to thank Blue Ribbon Woodstock for donating 20 loaves of bread towards the project,” says Swartz.“We would also like to express a word of thanks to all the volunteers who availed their time and resources to serve the community of 7de Laan,” says Swartz.
