The Zimele Project will be hosting a free Youth Education Becoming Opportunity (YEBO) Health and Wellness Jamboree at Rocklands High School for school girls aged 15 to 19 years from 09:00 to 14:00.

The Jamboree will include free health screening, check-ups, and healthcare service information desks from various NGO’s and organizations. Health checks will include blood pressure, HIV testing, TB screening, eye and dental checks, nutritional guidance and CPR demonstrations.

Sasha Lee Davids, singer and South African Idols 2015 co-winner, and DJ Randy will be at the event that will also feature lots of prizes up for grabs.

The Zimele Project is an initiative of the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation in partnership with the Western Cape Government and funded by the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Zimele is a unique multi-dimensional health and social intervention programme for youth aged ten to 24 in the Mitchell’s Plan and Klipfontein sub-structure.

Zimele organises multiple interventions that provide comprehensive health services to adolescents, lends educational support, and empowers youth of all ages to build bright and better futures.
