Residents will get the opportunity to be part of this year’s annual Cape Town International Kite Festival later this month with two scheduled initiatives.

Residents can get a taste of the festival with the Mitchell’s Plain community fly on Thursday 26 October.

The visiting local and international kiters will fly their kites at the Liberty Promenade Mall from 13:30 to 14:30 for all to see, free of charge.

Then, to see all the kites at the 23rd annual festival, a free return shuttle bus will take residents from outside Promenade Mall parking to the festival on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October. The shuttle is sponsored by HG Travelling.

To use the free bus, buy tickets to the festival for R40 per adult and R15 per child under the age of 12 beforehand or on the bus on the day.

The bus will leave at 10:00, 11:30, 13:00 and 14:30 on both days. Seats are based on a first come, first served basis.
