Gate motors a local crime trend

2017-11-28 06:01

More than 25 electronic motors of Lansdowne residents’ property gates have been stolen since July.

Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka of Lansdowne Police Station says this crime has become a trend in the area. Most cases were reported in September and the last four incidents occurred just last week.

He says the theft of gate motors has happened all over the Lansdowne policing precinct but mostly in Kenwyn and Rondebosch East.

No arrests have been made in any of the cases.

Acting station commander Colonel Eunice Ntubula urges residents to take extra precaution in securing their property and their belongings.
