Get into the festive spirit at Groot Constantia

2019-11-26 06:01

The Symphony Choir of Cape Town will host its annual festive concert on the lawns of Groot Constantia Wine Estate on Tuesday 10 December.

Patrons will be treated to popular carols and other festive music sung by the choir. Alexander Fokkens will conduct.

This year, the choir has joined forces with CBM South Africa, a charity committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, to present a festive concert with a cause. Funds would go towards providing nutritious meals to disadvantaged children at Alta du Toit School.

The Alta du Toit School, situated in Kuils River, is a special needs school for children aged six to 18 years old with severe intellectual disabilities. The Peninsula School Feeding Association (PFSA) provides 60 learners at Alta du Toit with breakfast and lunch daily. The concert, which will start at 19:00, will take place on the lawns of the estate. Gates open at 17:00.

Guests will be welcomed by a live performance by the Imbhewu Marimba Band from the Alta du Toit School. Bring a warm rug, low chairs, picnic baskets and a torch or a lantern. Groot Constantia wines, I Love Coffee, SA’s Deaf run coffee pop-up, and brownies baked by Brownies&DownieS will be for sale. Tickets cost R140 for adults, R50 for children under 12. Children under four enter free.
