Maranatha Morning Star Pentecostal Church came to life as the seniors pulled out all the stops for their masquerade ball themed event on Friday 20 November.

The event took place at the church situated on the corner of 6th Avenue and Retreat Main Road. The seniors went all out, with some arriving on motorcycles in fancy ballgowns and stunning evening wear, with men in stylish tuxedos.

They were chauffeured into the church by the Maranatha Morning Star youth group called Light Youth Fire (LYF), who were dressed in black and white to complement the theme as they were also the waiters/waitresses for the evening. There were snacks and refreshments in the foyer and the seniors were served dinner followed by dessert.

After some fun and dancing, the seniors all received a gift box as a token of appreciation with the Christmas spirit of giving in mind. Speaking to some of the seniors, many of them said it felt like it was their very own matric ball celebration and they were having a really good time. Organisers thanked all who contributed to making the seniors’ ball a success.
