Lansdowne detectives are seeking assistance in tracking down a man who is linked to a house robbery that occurred in December.

It is believed the man had been contracted to do painting work at a house in Johannesen Road, Penlyn Estate on Monday 31 December at 10:00.

According to the 68-year-old homeowner, she was at home with her worker and his son, when three unknown men entered the house and threatened them with a firearm, demanding the keys to the safe.

The men then took an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery valued at R10 000.

The suspects also grabbed her cellphone and threw it on the floor.

The complainant suspects that the painter opened the gate for the men and then disappeared with the suspects.

It is not clear if they were on foot or in a vehicle.

A case of house robbery has been opened for investigation.

No arrests have been made at this stage
