Help police with information

Police are seeking information on a carjacking in Strandfontein.

On Saturday 4 February at  01:30 a 24-year-old woman and a friend were at Strandfontein pavilion when they were approached by three men who threatened them with a firearm.

The suspects spoke Afrikaans and demanded their property and the car. One of the suspects pulled the complainant out of her car and the suspects drove off with her white Toyota Yaris with registration number CY 90181 in the direction of Old Strandfontein Road towards Grassy Park. The value of the vehicle is estimated at R142 000. The suspects also made off with the complainant’s jewellery valued at R66 000.

No shots were fired and no one has been arrested.

Strandfontein police have registered a case of carjacking and the investigation continues.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Strandfontein Police on 021 370 1500.

In an unrelated matter on Friday 3 February at 21:15, four unknown men held a man at gunpoint in Mont Clair.

The suspects instructed the 36-year-old man to get out of his work vehicle, a Toyota Corolla with registration number CF 228 102.

No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained.

The suspects were travelling in a white Opel Corsa Lite with no number plates.  

Only one of the suspects were armed.
