Helping learners like literacy

2017-09-19 06:00

Levana Primary School in Lavender Hill joined the world in celebrating International Literacy Day on Friday 8 September.

Living through Learning from Wynberg performed the play Goldilocks and the three bears to the school’s foundation phase learners.

The organisation provides youth with a chance to flourish in their formative schooling years by developing and improving their literacy levels, igniting teachers’ passion to provide a sound foundation for learners through practical training, and building learners’ confidence and ability to achieve their career dreams through hands-on teaching. Living through Learning also facilitates English Literacy classes at the school.

For over 40 years now, Unesco has been celebrating International Literacy Day by reminding the international community that literacy is a human right and the foundation of all learning.
