You won’t want to miss the second Open Streets Day taking place on Sunday.

Entrance is free and there will be lots of entertainment on offer, including painting and free bicycle lessons for children.

The confirmed car-free area for the event is Eisleben Road between Spine Road and Wespoort Drive.

The road will be closed between 11:00 and 17:30 with the organisers welcoming bicycles, rollerblades and thousands of pairs of feet from noon to 17:00.

Residents living around Eisleben Road are urged to take note of the road closures.

This day forms part of the citywide Open Streets programme and will be the second such occasion in Mitchell’s Plain.

The event aims to help connect communities, encourage use of alternative modes of transport, support local businesses and expose people to healthy and creative ways of using streets for recreation.
