Jailtime given in stabbing case

The Mitchell’s Plain Regional Court on Friday 16 November sentenced 30-year-old Lyle Adams to 15 years’ direct imprisonment for the murder of a 35-year-old man.

The incident took place on Saturday 29 April 2017 when the accused and another person were involved in an argument with the deceased. The deceased was stabbed in his arms and neck with a knife and a broken bottleneck.

The deceased was declared dead on arrival at the local hospital where he was admitted after the attack.

The charge against the accused was murder. Adams was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment­.
