Join in the big 100

All Fish Hoek organisations, including sports and cultural clubs, are invited to help make next year – the centennial celebration of the establishment of Fish Hoek – a memorable one, says subcouncil chairperson Felicity Purchase.

“The idea will be to brand all events with the centennial logo and to have additional events which may include talent competitions, a gala dinner and a mardi gras, for the occasion,” she says.

The centennial celebrations are expected to be launched in September and a series of 2018 calendars will be introduced, says Purchase. The sale of these calendars will aid in funding the events planned during the year.

“Fish Hoek has a long and rich history as a seaside town and vital station for the South African navy. It is something we should be proud of and all parties wishing to share in the planning should contact me,” Purchase adds.

The organising committee is also hoping to appoint an events planner for the centenary in a part-time position.
