People’s Post is calling on all our readers to join in on a year-long charity drive with us, starting this month.

We will try to make a tangible difference in the lives of the vulnerable in our communities – with your help – through our #WelovePost campaign.

Our team of reporters, advertising representatives, administrative staff and management, as well as the staff of our sister publications TygerBurger and City Vision, are working together to help a different worthy charity every month.

. A theme for each month, which will be reflected in our stories, pictures and news reports, will be announced at the start of each month.

. We will ask you, our readers, to join us as we collect donations according to the various themes and to nominate your favourite charity as the possible beneficiary for that month.

. Details will be made available in each week’s edition, so you’ll stay up to speed on each project, including the announcement of the chosen beneficiary and the next month’s charity drive.

. We will also publish reports and pictures of each handover event and ask our readers to send in their own pictures, letters, emails and SMSes from time to time.FEBRUARY’S DRIVE

We are a softie where animals are concerned, so in the spirit of Valentine’s month we are launching our first month’s charitable drive with the theme “Love is a four-legged word”.

. We will be collecting and donating dog and cat food, blankets, litter, animal toys, tick and flea products – anything animal-related – to a charity of your choice. Nominate your paw pal charity by emailing post@peoplespost.

. Follow our Facebook page for updates on this month’s drive.

. Drop off your donation for our four-legged friends. The best drop-off point is our office at 112 Edward Street in Bellville.

Join us to make our community a little better – one month, one organisation at a time. Every bit counts.
